Abstract: This study investigates the impact of Industry 4.0 on vocational training in Nigeria, examining how technological advancements such as automation, IoT, and data analytics are reshaping vocational education and training paradigms. Industry 4.0 technologies are revolutionizing production processes and workforce requirements, necessitating updates in vocational training to align with evolving industry needs and digital transformations. The research aims to (1) analyze the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies in vocational training curricula and practices, (2) assess the readiness of vocational institutions and educators in adopting and teaching Industry 4.0 skills, and (3) propose strategies for integrating Industry 4.0 competencies into vocational education to prepare students for future job markets. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from industry experts, educators, and technology providers. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational institutions, industry stakeholders, and technology firms in Edo State. Case studies will examine successful implementations of Industry 4.0 in vocational training and their impact on workforce readiness. Findings indicated a growing demand for digital skills, cybersecurity knowledge, and adaptability in vocational training, with challenges in infrastructure investment and faculty upskilling. Recommendations include curriculum updates, industry partnerships, and continuous professional development for educators to integrate Industry 4.0 technologies effectively and ensure vocational training remains responsive to industry advancements and workforce demands.
